Hey, forum. I'm about to begin publishing a series of short weird western ebooks and I'd like to share a few links where they may be appreciated. End Trails comes out in early January, and contains two stories of revenge with a supernatural edge. Here's the cover, plus the story summaries: In Thirteen Bullets, an uncommon sort of preacher is dragged into a frontier town with a bounty on his head, there to face judgement for merely telling the truth - or what may be the truth - but a harsher law is about to be laid down on the townsfolk: Survival of the Fittest. In The Lying Room, a troublemaker lies dead, killed in a fair fight, or so the killer claims. Yet some injustices are too great to be bound by death, and even when there's no love lost between brothers one might still rise to defend the other... or himself. It is going to be available via the usual places: Amazon and Smashwords, plus wherever Smashwords deals their titles out to. You can read excerpts from both stories on my blog, here and here, and if you sign up to my mailing list before January 5th you'll be able to get hold of a copy for free, as well as half-price discounts on future titles. The second in the series is a novella titled Given Names and will be out in February, with at least two more books to follow later in the year. Thanks for taking the time to read, and Happy New Year!

End Trails has reached the towering heights of the top 20 western-horrors on Amazon since it came out at the start of the month. That's not all that impressive, of course, given the genre's niche status, but it's a start! Here's the cover art for the follow-up novella I'm publishing next month, Given Names. It's a Native American coming-of-age story and this time the "weird" is a bit less overt. It's about perception, how we see ourselves and how others see us. You can see a larger version and read a mini-blurb on my blog, and I’ve just blogged the opening passage as a teaser. I’ll post a more substantial chunk next week, and anyone who subscribes to my mailing list before the book comes out (also at those links) will get a free copy on the day. Somewhere down the line I want to start earning money from my writing, but for now I'd settle for a bunch of happy readers writing happy reviews!

Given Names is now available - sorry, I forgot to post that second excerpt. Here it is, although if you're interested you could just download the free sample at this point... Purchase links can be found at this link, and it's available for half price all February - I hope you give it a try!
