Darn it! I'm behind as I still need to read the first one. I'll have to add it to my Kindle...

Just wondered, do you scan the original books and covert them to text, or does someone type them out again for the ebooks

We work from original books or manuscripts, scan them, format them, correct any typos, occasionally edit and then switch everything to American English, America being by far the biggest market for our books. At the moment I believe we have something like eighteen different writers in our stable, so Mike takes a share and I take a share, and then everything comes through me so that I can produce the final e-book.

Thanks for that Ben Keep up the great work guys. By the way, I'm not surprised on the up take of these westerns in particular. All the second hand book shops I go into and ask, say they wish they had more as they get lots of people coming in and asking for old western (cowboy) books ;D

One of the problems I have with Piccadilly Publishing are the amount of typos. Sometimes you'll be reading a sentence and the typo will be so bad that it'll completely jar you out of the story. Still, it's only a minor gripe. I appreciate the work you fellers are doing with the books and don't want to come off as harsh.

What's happening with THE REAPER series? I've always enjoyed B.J. Holmes' work and I have a few gaps in my collection of this particular series.
Another short series I'd like to see is Jay D. West's SHARPER.

We had to put THE REAPER back for a while, but the first book is now due out next May, as part of our first-year anniversary celebrations. I received the cover artwork for it just this morning. I'll post it here as soon as possible.
John -- PM me or contact me direct through the address on my website and tell me which books have the most typos in them and I'll happily go through them, upload corrected editions and send you replacements free of charge. I try to be as meticulous as possible when going through manuscripts, but I guess there will always be the odd rogue typo that manages to get through. When they're so bad that they spoil your enjoyment, however ... well, that is just plain unacceptable.

Ben: It's all good, my friend. I won't allow a few typos to upset me. Besides, I find them to be rather amusing. I understand it's hard work, so I won't burden you with it. Just keep cranking out further titles and I'll be pleased!

Well, it's good that you can see the funny side. The funniest typo I ever spotted was in Mike Linaker's book INCIDENT AT BUTLER'S STATION ... and this was in the Black Horse Western version, not our ebook reissue. The sentence should have read, "Katy shivered as the cold water came in contact with her smooth flesh, pale and white except where the sun had caught her face and arms." It actually came out as, "Katy shivered as the cold water came in contact with her smooth flesh, pale and white except where the sun had caught her face and anus."
Incredibly, in another Mike Linaker book, the same mistake appeared again, where a girl riding behind our hero did not "wrap her arms around him" but somehow managed to "wrap her anus around him!!" That made for an interesting picture.

Great looking cover. This will be on my 'to buy list' as it's one of the two books I don't have in the series.

That REAPER cover is cool.
I'm intrigued, though... is this a violent series, or...?

One thing that has always interested me are the prices. Every Piccadilly book is $1.99, save for HERNE THE HUNTER which is $2.99. Why the price increase for this particular title?
