Not really about O'Brien, but I've just given the first Jim Allison yarn a facelift and thought you might like to see the new-look cover. Attachments:

Looks good. I might have to pick that up as soon as I'm finished with the O'Brien series.

Well, MEAN AS HELL may have dropped to Number Two in Amazon's Top 100 western downloads, but at least it's been joined by COLD STEEL at Number Three! Meantime, HANGMAN'S NOOSE is the latest book to be given a facelift ... some of you may recognise the guy holding his hat in hand ... he's quite a friend of the western genre. Attachments:

HANGMAN'S NOOSE is the book that introduced me to the character. I bought the one with the cover sporting Clint Eastwood. Fantastic story!

Don't remember David Bowie being a good friend of the western, Ian! It is OF COURSE Gary Dobbs, he of Tainted Archive fame, who also writes purty fine westerns as 'Jack Martin'. Thanks for the comments, John. I can still remember settling down to research and write this one so clearly. Hard to believe it was 24 years ago.

This isn't really about O'Brien as such -- I just wanted to take the opportunity to wish you all a very happy and action-filled Christmas, and a new year packed with great western fiction!
